<102> Best buy why: Today I spent 3 1/2 hours at Best Buy, yes 3 1/2 hours!  Why?   Because that store takes entirely too long to shop in, especially on the final day of a weekend sale, UGH!  First I went there with my best friend and her parents to help her buy stuff before she went back to school.  I planned to go back later with my own parents to buy stuff for myself too, but I found another book to hold my CDs in that yesterday when I went shopping with my mom was no where to be found in the store.   There were only 3 and they were hidden in the computer section instead of audio, but I was stoked anyway and my best friend laughed at me...  So she buys her stuff at check out and then me.  I have one item and I hand over my card, the guy swipes it, looks bewildered, repeats, and repeats.... grrr.... it's one item, it's not that hard.   So then he gets on the phone because he doesn't know the user name and password to put in so that he can put in my card number manually.  So we wait.... and wait.... and wait - finally I give up and dig into my wallet for the cash.  Darn, two dollars short so my best friend loans me the two bucks and off we go.  Could somebody please fix the broken card reading system?  If it were my card I'd be more understanding, but uhh.. I just used my card there yesterday, it should have been in perfect working order, but anyway, the day continues....  So we get out to the parking lot and who is walking into the store but my parents.  My current shopping group was headed to Wal-Mart (another store I will be visiting very soon myself), so I said goodbye to my best friend and her parents and went back into Best Buy with mine.  "Wasn't I just here?" I thought... oh well - this trip now had purpose for I was purchasing a mighty fine product for myself.  You see for my apartment we decided that each of us would bring a TV, one for each room and yes I know we are electronics obsessed (and proud of it - what do you expect, 3 out of 4 of us are multimedia majors).  Unfortunately my TV died recently, so I had to get another one.  And since I was the one in charge of the TV for our living room, the most important TV in the house might I add, well I decided I needed to get a new one before I went back.  My parents agreed and so there we were.  I had it all picked out, so that wasn't a problem.  What was a problem was that in light of this I guess my father decided his TV at home, which was already bigger then mine might I add, needed to be upgraded.  So, my father, who never shops and who isn't really into electronics all that much anyhow, decides to pick out a huge, expensive TV for his own living room.  I think he was just jealous of my new one.... but anyway so we buy two TVs and a few other things and that should have been that.  Oh but you know that it takes forever to actually buy anything, especially items that big.  I think we waited almost an hour total in line to get the stuff.  One of my roommates works at Best Buy, so at least I had him to harass, err, I mean hang out with, while I waited.  And the two TVs don't get delivered until Tuesday, so I can't even come home and play with it.   Oh, but I cannot complain, for I just bought myself a 60 gig hard drive yesterday which was greatly needed (you have no idea).  My dad is buying me a new printer because he wants my old one for my parents computer (which is really my old computer that I donated for their use).  And to top it all off I plan to buy a new 24x burner tomorrow - evil laughter - okay I know, of these items the burner is what I NEED the least, but it's probably the thing I WANT the most, so that makes it just that much more important now doesn't it?  And before you think I'm spoiled, I've been craving and saving for these items for long enough and they will all be put to very good use.  So there.  Now that I'm done defending my spending to you (not that you actually cared in the first place) let's talk about me again... oh that's right we never got off the subject...  Well actually, there isn't much more to tell about my day.   After the long hours of standing around in Best Buy I came home, had dinner, and now here I am... ok well I think I watched a movie on TV and did some other things in there someplace, but you get my point... not much else happened of significance.  One week from today I'll (hopefully) be settled into my apartment in Philadelphia, with a few days before classes start and nothing to do but have fun.  I can't wait.  But as I've said previously, I am going to miss being home just a little bit.  Just being home overall I guess, but I'm sure I'll get over it pretty quickly once I'm back in the big city.
