<103> Count down to move: It's coming, we're counting down... final move out
day is almost upon us. It's kind of hard to believe actually. I mean, I know
just a few months ago I was sitting here complaining about how I didn't want the semester
to end or the summer to come. I needed a break from classes, but I didn't want to
leave the city or my friends there. But the summer still flew by somehow, as summers
always tend to do, and now here I am, with two full days left living at home. And
let me tell you, it is craziness, pure craziness. I have an endless list of things
to do, things still left to buy despite the fact that I've been buying things all week
thus far, ugh! I was in Philly for a few hours yesterday moving a few items in and
such, but today was my first major move in day. I spent quite a few hours in the
city and I still don't feel like I accomplished all that much, but it's getting there I
guess. I also had to be in there to wait for the cable guy. I finally got my
Digital cable box put in and switched from the regular cable box that they installed two
weeks ago when I never ordered regular cable in the first place. That is only one of
the fine things Comcast Cable has
been doing in the last month to add incredible amounts of stress to my life... I
still don't have a cable modem, nor a cable modem connection setup as I am not signed up
for it yet. And why is this? Also Comcast's fault. They say they can
only put one order in at a time and since my digital cable sign up has STILL yet
to clear their system, guess who has to wait to sign up for @home internet service.
Look people, I want to pay YOU, stop giving me so much trouble!! If I didn't want a
cable connection so much you know Verizon
DSL would have a new customer by now. I have called them everyday for the last
week trying to find out how to speed up this process to no avail, obviously. There
is a slight possibility that I can go to some local Comcast building and pick up a quick
start install kit. I can do all the installing myself and such, I just need the
freakin modem, but they are telling me that only modem buyers may be able to pick theirs
up directly. The renters, like us, are supposed to be mailed their package and that
takes "up to 7 days".... yeah we cannot go a week without the internet, who do
you think you are dealing with, normal people??? We are overly addicted and overly
involved, and we cannot go that long, c'mon seriously.... Anyway, so there is headache
number one. I don't even think I should get into the rest of the things going on
dealing with our apartment. Despite it all though, I still love my place and I am so
psyched to be moving in on Saturday! And I still have a lot of packing left to do,
so I best get to work or I'll be living here a bit longer then planned....
