<107> Rain to shine: What a nice day today... despite the fact that I left at 8:30am this morning to walk to class in the rain, the day only got better as it went on because by 9:45am I was walking home and the the sky was looking a lot brighter.  Not to mention all I did between that time was check my email and watch an illegal copy of Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back on one of the computers.  It was great.  I'm downloading it myself now so I can finish it, isn't technology wonderful.  I also discovered a new downloader program because of it called Morpheus; looks like it's going to be a very useful one too.   Anyway, you might be wondering why I am home so early on one of my 6-hour studio days.   Well, my teacher wasn't coming in today so we were having a sub come in, another teacher that I have had before.  He's a great guy, but he's known for being late.   So when we sat for half an hour and it got to be around 9am, we expected him to show up any minute.  Afterall, this is the same teacher who let us come in at 9am instead of 8:30am for a month last year until the head of our department found out and made him move it back up.  But when it got to be 9:30am and we found out that no one could get in touch with him, we were officially allowed to leave.  We had all just been crowded around this one computer, watching the movie so we hadn't really minded the wait that much.  Finding out we could leave was just the next added bonus to the day and so we were soon off, free for the rest of the day - so nice.  I'm going to try to make use of this time too.  All last week, especially between Thursday and Sunday I spent so much time working on my animation project.  I spent at least 15 - 20 hours on it over the course of those 4 days.  I swear the days of my weekend consisted of nothing but working on it with a meal or two in there someplace, but I made sure to stop at night and go out because there was no way I was wasting my entire weekend.  This week's assignment is to finish up last weeks assignment (with improvements and corrections) and also to create a walking cycle which is basically making a character look like their walking in place.  It's definitely an easier work load then last week, which was to create a mini movie, an animation of 3 objects falling.. more involved then it sounds probably because it was a pain in the ass to do.  I really like the types of things we do in the class, it's just I could do without the teacher, the class, and the huge amount of work.  Oh well, gotta take the bad with the good.

Things lately have been going really well for me.  Everything just seems to be falling into place and my complaints grow lesser daily.  I'm actually starting to feel inspired to do things lately... things like update these websites of mine, which have taken a major break recently if you haven't noticed.  I just needed the balancing time I suppose, but now I think I may just be coming back in full force - scary thought isn't it?  I might actually get some stuff done this week considering the work for my first major class isn't too killer and my second major class didn't happen today, thus leaving me no work with the no class.... what luck.  I've been feeling like doing other creative things like drawing lately too, something I haven't done for fun in the longest time (with the exception of doodling in note margins).  I want to get my work up on this site too.  I stopped updating the digital work section sometime after the beginning of second semester last year and I've done much better stuff since then I think.  So hopefully that'll happen soon as well as me getting up some new pictures.. I have quite a few.  It's been a great first month here and it seems to just be getting better.
