<116> The front of the line: Registration... a word all college students know too well.  It doesn't just mean that it's time to register for classes yet again, it means so much more.  It means waiting in lines, it means people who don't know what they're doing, and best of all, it means no sleep - at all.  We stayed up ALL night.   We went over to the building at 2am, but no one seemed to be around yet, so we went back home (nice that it's only 2 blocks away) and had a little food before heading back around 3am.  We were so excited because it seemed we were the first people there, but then one of us had the bright idea to check the inside entrance again.  It had been locked before, but sure enough it was open now and there were already about 8 students inside.  Damn... no more first in line.  But close to the front can be ok.   So then we waited.... and waited.... and waiting.....  It was nice that most of my friends were waiting with me and others showed up shortly after, putting most of them close in line.  We just hung around all night.  Some tried to take naps, but it was useless to try for most.  It got light out again and as I watched the sun come up (well not really but watched the sky as it gradually grew lighter) I couldn't help thinking to myself: "Why the hell are all of us here this early?"  It's a question I do know the answer to, however, we are all there for the same reason - we all want classes that all fill up terribly quickly.  When we got there at 3am 2 of my classes were already full since the seniors and juniors go ahead of us.  So I spend a good portion of my time reworking my schedule a few times, trying to pick yet even more back ups in case those 8 people ahead of me filled up another wanted class.  That didn't happen though and it may have even worked out for the better.  The one nice thing in addition to ensuring you get your classes by getting there way too early is being at the front of the line also means you'll be one of the first done.  So at 9:30 registration started and before 9:45 hit I was back at home in my bed on my way back to dreamland.  Too bad I had class at 4 to interrupt my already interrupted slumber.   When I got home at 7 it was tempting to go back to bed, but my hunger prolonged that and then my wish to not waste my entire day due to registration kicked in and I am still awake.  Not for too much longer though because I'm really dragging.  Ah, but just one class tomorrow morning to get through and I have an entire weekend to rejuvenate.  Ah and that reminds me.  No more three day weekends for me next semester.  I went to registration with Mondays off, but because of those filled up classes I had to sacrifice that.  I actually have an easier Wednesday because of it and I've spaced my week out pretty well with a hard day, then easy, then hard, and so on.   And the hard days aren't even really hard, they are just busier then the others.   I seem to have class with a lot of my friends next semester too, so that should be nice at least.

I've been spending some time in the last two days trying to redesign my sites.  I really want to get a better looking design on this site and for my other site I want to completely redesign it and represent a lot of the content in a different way too, so I have my work cut out for me.  I'm going to have to wait until winter break though I think, right now things are just too packed.   That's another thing.  Yesterday I was selected for an internship with my school.  Just a couple hours a week learning how to setup and manage the department's servers.  Something I have slight experience with already, but it will definitely be a helpful experience to have.  I have to stop over and get setup with that tomorrow after my class.  Also, yesterday all we did in my studio class was play games.   It was great.  Soccer, Frisbee, Mario Kart, and Clue - what more could a college student ask for?  There was reasoning behind the game playing, you see, our final project is to create an original game of our own.  So far I have limited ideas, so suggestions are definitely welcome.  We can do it either digitally or not and of course me being me I'm going to make it tough on myself and attempt to make my game in flash.  I only really started working with flash 3 weeks ago, so I'm not quite sure what I'm getting myself into, but we have over a month to complete it, so it's a challenge that I'm going to take on.  Ah, so now I think I'll really starting to fall asleep.   Tomorrow I should be in a better working order and hopefully not feel like passing out half of the day.  So sleep, here I come, and I will be back later.
