<262> Back To Life: What kind of 'blogger' would I be if I
didn't post on New Year's Eve? One last chance to say goodbye to this last year
- yes goodbye 2007, you've not been so great, not just for me, but for many
other people I know as well. So it's been a tough year, even for the world overall...
so we all greet 2008 with open arms and hopefully open minds. The world is ready
to change and so am I. I am ready to move forward into the future and bring
back the best of the past. Don't get me wrong, the year wasn't all bad. While
I did spend a great deal of it VERY sick, we did open our gallery and my two
wonderful twin nephews came into this world. So yes, it wasn't all bad, but
the good things will continue and grow with time and I'm looking forward to
being better enough to enjoy it.
I don't need a lot to bring in the new year... you won't find it brought in with a bang at our house... but we welcome it all the same. Actually Dan and I plan to have a quiet evening together. Of course I'm still semi-sick/recovering and we aren't much of the going out type to begin with anyway. So we welcome these plans while our friends go out and party. Maybe next year I'll be in a different place, but this year I plan to be exactly where I'm meant to be.
So this year ends and a new one begins that I hope will be a great one. I have big plans for it so it had better step up! I'm thinking of those around me who approach this year in not so great circumstances, but I hope that the power of the new year quickly sees them through the tough times so good times can return to them again. We've all been through so much. Oh yes, that's called life, especially life in your 20s! ;) Still, sometimes it seems like things happen to people that they really don't deserve. Yes, everything happens for a reason, but you want to believe that things will work out for those who deserve it. Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see what this year brings.
If I don't go to bed soon, I'm going to end up sleeping through the last day of 2007! I had dialysis tonight (usually Monday nights but it's different because of the holidays), so that always throws me off a bit. My sleep schedule was really messed up for awhile and it sort of still is, but lately I've noticed since I've been feeling more energy overall that I've also been feeling more tired when I should be. Yet, here I am, still up at four in the morning because I'm doing a million things at once. For tonight, those things are mostly online while watching the last bits of the Futurama Marathon on Cartoon Network (I won't rant about being upset over its leaving of CN and moving to Comedy Central, but at least we get some straight to DVD movies out of it - the first of which was quite great I might add). Anyway, I think I'm getting sleepier with every keystroke, so I'd better be saying goodnight.
Goodbye 2007! Welcome 2008! May you bring in lots of good things and even make them great!
Until next time! :)
